For a person’s well being, a healthy body and healthy mind are essential. Often, people tend to give very less attention to ensure that they have a healthy mind. We often burden ourselves, take up the blame on behalf of others, bottle up our emotions, ignore reality and often forget to give our minds a break. This is not healthy and would affect our physical health and in turn affect our overall well being.

Over the past few years there has been a change, with the constant effort of various people in the field of Psychology , mental well being is given a lot more attention than in the past. This change has positively affected various aspects of each and every individual. Although there are people who continue to ignore it, there is hope that in the future that they too, might change their mind.

Just as physical fitness helps our bodies to stay strong, mental fitness helps us to achieve and sustain a state of good mental health. When we are mentally healthy, we enjoy our life and environment, and the people in it. Our Mental Health condition affects the way we think, behave, respond to people, our work and relationship with others. We all experience stress and negative emotions, but the way we respond to it is very important. Stress and negative emotions should not deteriorate our mental health.

We must ensure that our mind is safe. We cannot stop the stressful event from taking place but we can limit its effect on us. If we try to understand the situation more and identify the pros and cons, the chances of reducing the stress is more. We all face difficult situations and that is part of each and every one’s life. There is no use denying it. Face it with confidence.

How long can we run away and pretend for? When in difficult times self- compassion is essential. At the end of the day it is only YOU who is going to face consequences and reap the harvest. Do it for yourself. Face any situation with confidence and a positive attitude. This would keep your mind safe rather than living in denial and hating yourself. Mental strength is not the ability to stay out of darkness rather it is the ability to sit in darkness with the hope that light will shine again. After every rain comes a rainbow.
